AKA Hippie Stuff
There are some things about my that are a little different about my life than others. My husband says this is my attempt to be “unique” in an “already unique” family. I agree, and I also hope some of these choices will help reduce my carbon footprint, stay healthy and reduce my risk of disease, save money, and help me be more understanding of others who are “unique” or different from me in any way. Open your mind. Think outside the box. Don’t float the mainstream. But don’t judge other people for their decisions either. Tolerate those who haven’t made different choices, and learn from their insight. The easiest way to be accepted in the lunchroom for your tofu is to know when to keep your opinions about hamburgers to yourself.
Why are you a vegan?
Why don’t you wear deodorant?
Why don’t you like high fructose corn syrup?
Why don’t you eat cheese? Eggs? Donuts?
Why don’t you wash your hair more often?
Which do you prefer- hiking or TV?
Why do you compost?
Why waste your time recycling?
I took the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
