Golden Bowls

This week is my students last week. She has been with me for 10 weeks, and is really pretty excellent. She is going to make a great PT! Either that, or she brainwashed me with the Starbucks treat she brought me this morning.


Another long day at work. I need to plan a vacation soon.

It was beautiful out, but pretty windy this afternoon. My hamstring is feeling much better, but I didn’t want to push it. We went for a 2ish mile walk in the neighborhood, and then I settled in to begin the long and tedious student evaluation process.

Brandon cooked dinner!!


Golden bowls!! My favorite. This is based on a concept from one a my favorite restaurants- The Grit, a local vegetarian spot in Athens, GA. This particular bowl we had tonight was layered with quinoa, sautéed vegetables (red and green bell peppers, carrots, celery, mushrooms, and spinach), avocado, daiya vegan cheese, and, the most important ingredient– Grit style tofu!! The real recipe is a bit more complex, but for our simplified version we dice a block of tofu, pan fry in olive oil, and add soy sauce + nutritional yeast = perfection. This dinner is all my favorite things in a bowl, how could you go wrong?!

Brandon put on Doctor Zhivago… But I’m having a little trouble paying attention. It’s time to get back to my student evaluation.
